PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO (June 19, 2024) … Humberstone Speedway will kick off its 2024 season with the first of the final five races in speedway history, the All Canadian presented by Stirling Lubricants on Sunday, June 30.
The DIRTcar Racing Sportsman will be headlined as they compete as part of their Western Region Tour for the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series, paying $1,500 to win. The Sportsman will be joined by the Vanderlaan Building Products Northeast Late Model Alliance, also racing for $1,500 to win. The Thunder Stocks will be racing for $750 to win, while both the Mini Stocks and Mod Lites will be racing for a top prize of $500 each. The Vintage Cars will also be on the Final All Canadian racing program.
Pit gates will open at 4:30pm, with grandstands opening at 5pm, and racing will get underway at 7pm. Pit admission is $40, and a digital waiver must be signed prior to entry. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $16 for youth (14-18), $8 for kids (8-13) and young fans aged 7 and under are admitted FREE.
Several key positions have been filled for the season. John Veach returns to the flag stand for the 2024 campaign. Veach has been an official for decades at several speedways and racing organizations throughout the Northeast. Steven Petty will return to the microphone at Humberstone for the 2024 campaign. Petty has announced at regional speedways for over a decade, including at Humberstone from 2013-2019. Former speedway owner and track prep man Al Wagner will lead the efforts to prepare the track on race days. Al has more laps around Humberstone than practically anyone. Joe Skotnicki, owner of RPM Workshops and Race of Champions Series, has been named Race Director. Skotnicki got his start in racing working at regional short tracks, made his way working for NASCAR and DIRTcar Northeast for years before taking over ownership of the Race of Champions and the RPM Workshops.
